Ally Blake was born in Millmerran a small town in the-middle-of-nowhere, Queensland. She graduated from St Peters Secondary College in Brisbane, duxing Theatre.
Whilst studying for her Bachelor of Arts with a double English major at the University of Queensland, Ally danced in front of up to 50,000 people per game as a cheerleader for the Brisbane Broncos football team. In her third year she became cheer captain and choreographed several routines. She cheered for the Gold Coast Rollers basketball team and on The Footy Show , a weekly television program all about rugby league. During this time she travelled to Santa Barbara, California to take part in a cheerleading camp and her squad won the much coveted Spirit Award at the culmination of the camp.
In early 2003 Ally sold her first book, THE WEDDING WISH a short romantic comedy, to Harlequin Mills and Boon. This book was nominated by industry magazine Romantic Times reviewers as Best First Series Romance of 2004.
Since becoming published, Ally has given talks at writers conferences, libraries and literary festivals around Australia regarding The Secrets of Newly Published Sisterhood, being Sassy in the City (how to sell a contemporary romance with an Australian bent) and The Changing Face of Contemporary Romance and Sexy vs Sweet: The Ultimate Showdown. Ally has written several articles giving tips to aspiring romance authors.
Ally has been published in over thirty international markets with more than a million books sold worldwide and has sold sixteen fun, flirty, romantic novels. Ally has been named Reviewers' Choice winner of Best Harlequin Romance Novel at CataRomance.com four times, and was nominated in 2007 for the prestigious HOLT MEDALLION for MEANT-TO-BE MOTHER and again by the Romantic Times Reviewers for MILLIONAIRE TO THE RESCUE.
She now also writes sexy, sassy books for the Modern Heat line edited out of the United Kingdom.

Ally enjoyed designing her own website so much she has branched out to create others including the websites for romance authors Liz Fielding and Lucy Gordon and for the TV comedy game show Hot Dog With the Lot.
After marrying her husband in Las Vegas in 2000, Ally moved to Melbourne with their miniature fox terrier, Squiffy, their two black-headed pythons, Mary and Frederick, and white silky chickens, Laverne and Shirley. When not writing she enjoys eating M&Ms, watching The West Wing reruns, barracking at Collingwood football games and gooing and gahing at her beautiful baby girl. |
